From Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport:

Bus: Take route 97 (Bayshore) from pillar 14 outside the Level 1 Arrivals area to Laurier Station (2A). Tabaret Hall will be directly in front of you as you exit the bus. Walk to opposite side of the building and enter from the Tabaret Lawn entrance for easiest access to the registration desk.

From VIA Rail Ottawa Train Station:

Bus: Take route 96 (Terry Fox) from VIA Rail to Laurier Station (2A). Tabaret Hall will be directly in front of you as you exit the bus. Walk to opposite side of the building and enter from the Tabaret Lawn entrance for easiest access to the registration desk.

Driving and Parking on Campus

For guests driving to the conference, paid parking is available on campus. Please consult the Parking and Sustainable Transportation Office for rates and available parking lots:

The closest parking lots to the conference venue are

***Please note: The City of Ottawa is currently undergoing extensive roadwork and construction in preparation for the Light Rail Train system and Canada 150. As a result, traffic flow is greatly affected. Please take this into consideration when planning your arrival and departure times.

Cafes and Restaurants

Breakfast and early morning coffee: For guests staying at the Sheraton, Indigo, and Residence Inn, there are a variety of coffee shops and eateries in the downtown core that open early to accommodate the morning crowd. Particularly convenient is the Slater/Metcalfe intersection, where you will find a Second Cup, Starbucks, Tim Horton's, and Fuel Bar open from 7am or earlier.

For guests staying at the Novotel or HI-Ottawa Jail, you can find a Second Cup, Starbucks, Tim Horton's, and Timothy's, among others, in the Rideau Centre shopping mall. In addition, you are minutes away from the University of Ottawa and its conveniently located coffee shops (Second Cup, Starbucks, Timothy's)!

Lunch: For guests looking for a delicious lunch during the 12:00-13:30 break, the following places are within a quick walk of Tabaret Hall:

1. Rideau Centre: Excellent Dining Hall food court and restaurants, featuring everything from standard food court fare to international specialties and delectable desserts. Approximately 7 minutes from Tabaret Hall.

2. Perfection Satisfaction Promise: Homemade vegetarian and vegan meals, and fair trade teas and coffees at reasonable prices, 3 minutes from Tabaret Hall.

3. University Centre: University food court, sushi and coffee shops, and a convenience store- quick and convenient for guests in a hurry!

4. Laurier/Nelson Intersection: A variety of take-out/eat-in shops, including pizza, burgers, subs, shawarma, and a Timothy's coffee shop.

5. Royal Oak: Pub food and drinks of all kinds. May be very crowded at lunch!

6. Freshii: Popular location for quick, healthy meals and snacks (many vegetarian-friendly options) just steps away from Tabaret Hall. Daily $6 specials.

7. Subway: Sub sandwiches, salads, and snacks.

Dinner: There are many wonderful restaurants in Ottawa for all palates and all budgets. We suggest taking a stroll around the Byward Market or a walk down Elgin Street, or asking one of our volunteers for a recommendation!
